Abstract
A ureterovaginal fistula (UVF) involves an abnormal communication between the ureter and the vagina. VanRoonhuyse is credited with the first UVF repair in 1672, in which he performed debridement of the edge of the fistula and closure using sharpened goose quills [1]. Joubert repaired a UVF with a labial skin flap in 1834.
