Abstract

A comprehensive theoretical model of Schottky type organic solar cell was presented. It was assumed that only excitons including those created in the barrier region and those diffused from the generation sites in the neutral region to the barrier region can be dissociated into free carriers and collected by electrode. The effect of the surface recombination velocity on the collection of free carriers by electrode was also studied. Adopting strong oriented built-in field, ultrathin film and oriented molecular structure can improve the performance of this solar cell.
