Abstract

Venous leg ulcer remains in Health economy a major problem. As first stop medical treatment is always recommended. But a large number of patients can be improved by surgical treatment. Surgery has two aims: to shorten healing duration and to prevent recurrence. In order to choose the better surgical treatment, it is necessary to understand and assess ulcer physiopathology and to be trained in all surgical procedures. Therefore the management of the venous leg ulcers must be done in specialized centers. The purpose of this publication is to describe the differents surgical technics which are available and their indications in accordance with the physiopathology.
