Thermodynamic relation between optical emission and absorption processes in quantum dot lasers

Abstract

By using a measurement technique based on multi-section laser diode structure, modal gain spectra were obtained for InGaAs quantum dot systems with emission wavelengths of approx. 1 μm. The obtained spectra were compared to the transformed spontaneous emission, and good agreement was obtained.
