Abstract
There are many types of anastomotic techniques that may be employed in the neck from the cervical esophagus to the gastric conduit. The type of technique used varies mostly based on surgeon experience and training; however, length of available esophagus or conduit may affect the type of anastomotic techniques possible for the patient. Therefore, understanding of available techniques is important. Detailed descriptions of techniques used for the neck gastroesophageal anastomosis is described.
