Abstract
Utilizing siRNAs as a novel therapeutic modality has an enormous potential to bring the era of theranostics a step further. However, delivery of siRNAs into their target tissues and cells is a very complicated issue involving several hurdles. Researchers made major progress in developing "smart" carriers that could overcome these challenges. This review presents the recent progress in this emerging field, focusing primarily on the in vivo applications with special emphasis on the strategies for siRNAs delivery to leukocytes.
