Abstract

A careful comparison is made between experimental results and two models describing optical synchronisation of chaotic external cavity semiconductor lasers. It is demonstrated that optical synchronisation regimes for chaotic semiconductor lasers in a master-slave configuration are dependent both on the frequency detuning between the master and slave lasers and also on the slave laser output power.
