Abstract

The purpose of this chapter is to provide readers with up-to-date information on the current landscape of living donor kidney transplant (LDKT). This includes providing an overview of current trends in LDKT, informed consent requirements, factors affecting donor decision-making, barriers and facilitators to living donation, and the importance of financial neutrality and protecting the rights of donors. The chapter ends with suggestions on how to better support living donors and transplant recipients pursuing LDKT.
