Abstract
The limits of the spatial resolution in elastography were investigated using a controlled simulation study. The results show that the axial resolution in elastography is limited by the bandwidth of the ultrasound system used to acquire the data and the lateral resolution is determined by the beamwidth of the ultrasound transducer.
