Abstract
The preparation of Hg1-xMxBa2Cu1Oy, (where x = 0 or 0.2 with M = vanadium or lead) pure compounds was performed by hot-isostatic-pressing (HIP) process starting directly by simple oxides canned in silver tube. The synthesis and contemporary consolidation of 1201 samples were successfully carried out at 800°C and 0.15 GPa for 5 h through a single-step process. The crucial role of the wrapping as well as canning material has been stressed. Magnetic susceptibility showed a granular transition around 90 K, followed by a very narrow intergranular transition; Jc value of the bulk sample was also determined.
