Abstract

The authors intent was to examine whether the adequacy of medical care during an inpatient episode influenced the probability of readmission within 90 days in persons with chronic disease other than cancer. We describe the development of a set of non-disease-specific discharge criteria and present our findings on reliability and predictive validity.
