Abstract
We compared the lipid-altering efficacy of combination therapy with extended-release (ER) niacin and lovastatin versus niacin ER alone and lovastatin alone in patients with hyperlipidemia. Combination therapy provided significant improvement in low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol triglyceride, and lipoprotein (a) levels.
