    Abstract

Thirteen eyes with vitreoretinal membranes from postretinal detachment surgery, diabetic proliferative retinopathy, trauma, inflammation, and postoperative extracapsular cataract extraction have been treated with the mode lock 3. 5-4 millijoule meditech laser from October of 1981 to March of 1984. The taut membranes appeared to respond best to laser treatment. There was no pain or discomfort associated with the treatment.
