Abstract

In order to determine the composition fluctuation during spinoidal decomposition in the Fe-19Co-14Mo-10Ni alloy, the early stages of aging were studied by Mossbauer spectroscopy in this work. The chemical composition of the alloy studied was (wt.%): Co 19.02, Mo 13.82, Ni 9.99, Ti 0.25, C 0.003, Si 0.01, Mn 0.003 and Fe balance. The maraging steel was melted in a vacuum induction furnace and melted ingots were remelted in a consumable-arc furnace. The material was forged to 4mm-thick sheets.
