Abstract

Robotic or laparoscopic cystoprostatectomy is increasingly accepted as appropriate management of muscle-invasive urothelial carcinoma and other conditions requiring this operation. As the skills necessary to remove the bladder in this fashion have improved, the desire/need to perform a totally intracorporeal urinary diversion has increased as well. In this chapter we discuss and review the current literature on intracorporeal ileal loop creations and technique. We also provide a video for the reader to review as a primer on the “how to” of this procedure.
