Flow-independent drop deformation with zero surface tension

Abstract

We derive exact solutions describing three-dimensional ellipsoidal drop deformation with zero surface tension in steady, planar linear flows. We apply the analysis to study the development of lamellar drop morphologies as observed in recent experiments.
