    Abstract

The N‐acetylcysteine, cysteine and gluathione conjugates of r‐7,t‐8‐dihydroxy‐t‐9,10‐oxy‐7,8,9,10‐tetrahydrobenzo[a]pyrene as well as sulphuric and glucuronic acid conjugates of hydroxybenzo[a]pyrenes have been studied by fast‐atom bombardment mass spectrometry (FABMS). Dynamic FABMS has been shown to be advantageous over conventional static FABMS giving more intense spectra with less material in both positive‐and negative‐ion modes. The spectra show quasmolecular ions and fragment ions indicative of the aglycome and/or the conjugating group.
