Abstract
Our aim concerns the numerical computation of stiff nonlinear PDEs that are appropriate for singular perturbation analysis. We present two domain decomposition methods that numerically solve for the layers of the singular perturbation problem. These numerical methods use at different stages the information given by the asymptotic analysis. We will consider as a test problem the simplified model of reacting flow of Majda.
