N2 - The authors regret that a few corrections need to be reported for this article. In the caption of Fig. 3, for all cases E = 200 GPa and ν = 0.3. In the caption of Fig. 4, the correct material property for generating these curves is κp = 0.03 (not 0.3). Fig. 14 shows the experimental response of Al2024-T3, along with simultaneous fits of the stress-strain and damage-strain to extract the material properties summarized in Section 6.8. The correct set of properties corresponding to the fits shown in Fig. 14 is Y0 = 330 MPa (not 350 MPa), Ymax = 489 MPa (not 500 MPa), κp = 7.95 (not 4.95) and γp = 0.65 (not 0.7). Figures 15 to 18, related to Section 6.9, were produced by an older version of the finite element code for reactive plasticity with damage, based on a slightly different set of equations than those appearing in the paper. However, nearly perfect agreement with these figures can be achieved by setting the damage parameter κp to 3.3 (instead of 3.8). The unit for the effective stress in Fig. 16c should be GPa, not MPa. The authors would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.
