Abstract

When a patient or family member has a neurological disorder, it is often challenging to understand the diagnosis and the various specialist that care for that disease. This chapter presents a very brief overview of the common members of a neurological care team and the basic structures that make up the nervous system. The brain is the central organ of the nervous system and through connections via nerves it forms the basis for control of all of the body.
