Abstract
A model recently developed for non-ionic globular micelles is tested by adding a screened electrostatic contribution to the intermicellar interaction. This models solutions of mixed non-ionic-ionic amphiphiles. The closed solubility loop shrinks until it disappears above a charge per micelle value of Qc With the parameters appropriate for C12E8, Qc is of the order of 1.5-3 electronic charges. This is similar to the value measured in SDS-C12E6 mixed micelles. We predict an anomalous small-angle scattering with a divergence of the structure factor at a finite wavevector.
