Abstract
Precision psychiatry is a fast-growing field that aims to incorporate individual biomedical data from genetics, imaging, other biomarkers, and integrated machine learning across datasets to inform clinical decision making and develop patient-specific interventions. Psychiatry has begun to evolve from a discipline reliant primarily on a descriptive, symptom-based diagnostic framework to a specialty that aims to implement precision approaches into clinical practice. This chapter discusses the application of genetics, imaging, biomarkers data, and of machine-learning based models, mainly focusing on what is currently known and exploring the unknown, in the context of psychiatric patient care.
