Dr. Prager holds a doctorate from Tulane University and a master’s of public health from the University of Texas School of Public Health. Prior to joining the Methodist Hospital, Dr. Prager was a clinical professor in the department of ophthalmology at the University of Texas Medical Branch.

Dr. Prager currently works in the department of ophthalmology at Houston Methodist Hospital, providing non-invasive diagnostic testing to ophthalmology patients. He has a long standing interest in research and has an extensive publication record, including eight book chapters.

Research interests

Dr. Prager’s research focus is the non-invasive evaluation of the visual system through ultrasonograpy and electrophysiology. He holds a patent for an immersion biometry shell for accurate ocular measurements prior to cataract surgery, a device that has become a standard of care and is used in 39 countries. Dr. Prager’s most recent invention, the Clear Scan Cover, was created to simplify examinations of the anterior segment of the eye, and to facilitate the clinical use of ultrasonography.
