Dr. Sanchez is board certified in both anatomic pathology and forensic pathology. Prior to joining the Harris County Medical Examiner Office in 2001, he served as a forensic pathologist at the Medical Examiner Office in Washington, DC. Dr. Sanchez is on the editorial boards of the American Journal of Forensic Medicine in Pathology and Forensic Science, Medicine and Pathology. He holds appointments at the South Texas College of Law, The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, Baylor College of Medicine, and George Washington University.
Research interests
Dr. Sanchez research interests include forensic pathology, specifically injury and injury mechanisms. Through collaborations with institutions in the Texas Medical Center, he also investigates the use of advanced diagnostic technologies in postmortem studies.
