Glenn B. Anderson M.D. is an active member of the Department of Neurosurgery, Houston Methodist Neurological Institute, also he is the Medical Director of Neurosurgery, Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital, and Assistant Professor Clinical Neurosurgery Weill Medical College of Cornell University. He was previous Assistant Professor Neurosurgery and Director of Cerebrovascular Surgery, University of Texas Medical Branch.

He is originally from Canada, completing his undergraduate degree from Queen’s University at Kingston, his medical degree from the University of Alberta, and his neurosurgical training at the University of Alberta. He completed a Master’s of Science degree in Surgery at the University of Alberta during his neurosurgical residency training.

Dr. Anderson is board certified in neurosurgery in both the United States as well as Canada. He is an active member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS), Congress of Neurological Surgeons, Texas Association of Neurological Surgeons, and the Cerebrovascular Section of the AANS.

Research interests

Dr. Anderson completed a Master’s of Science researching imaging techniques in subarachnoid hemorrhage. Dr. Anderson pioneered the use of computed tomography angiography (CTA) in subarachnoid patients for the University of Alberta Hospital system. He introduced and perfected the technique of CTA in the setting of cerebral aneurysms leading to surgical treatment of cerebral aneurysms based on CTA alone.

Dr. Anderson continues to have interest in cerebrovascular disease, namely aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage. The clinical treatment of cerebral vasospasm secondary to subarachnoid hemorrhage, as well as the epidemiology of vasospasm risk in the population are his current interests.
