Personal profile

Dr. Coffey received her MD degree from the University of Costa Rica in San Jose in 1991. She then completed a pathology residency and cytopathology fellowship at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, before joining the faculty at Baylor as an assistant professor in the Department of Pathology. She joined Houston Methodist in 2005 and received her Weill Cornell Faculty appointment in 2008.

Research interests

Dr. Coffey is a general surgical pathologist with subspecialty training in cytopathology. Her areas of interest are gynecologic pathology and cytopathology. She is currently involved in several collaborative studies using tissue microarrays of gynecologic malignancies.
