Dr. Muthigi is a male infertility specialist dedicated to partnering with reproductive endocrinologists and infertility clinics to help optimize couples for conception. He has received advanced training from pioneers in the field in microsurgical techniques for surgical sperm retrieval and vasectomy reversal, as well as in treating hormone deficiencies to support both natural conception and assisted reproductive technologies. Dr. Muthigi’s goal as a physician is to listen to patients, understand their aspirations, and provide personalized, compassionate care.
Research interests
Dr. Muthigi serves as the co-director for the Houston Methodist Fertility and Reproductive Medicine Program (FRMP) and director of the Male Fertility Clinic. Throughout his professional career, Dr. Muthigi has participated in various research endeavors. This includes:
- Male infertility and abnormal semen parameters as a marker for overall health
- Use of artificial intelligence to optimize Men's Health care
- Fertility preservation for iatrogenic infertility
- Testosterone replacement therapy strategies in men interested in preserving fertility
- Regenerative therapies for erectile dysfunction
