Dr. Adarsh Bhimraj is the Director for the Infectious Diseases Fellowship and Education Programs at Houston Methodist Hospital. With over 12 years of experience at Cleveland Clinic, he served as the Associate Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency Program and the Director for Clinical Reasoning Education. Dr. Bhimraj has a special interest in teaching clinician reasoning and applying evidence-based practices in patient care. He has been recognized for his teaching excellence and received the Internal Medicine House Staff Teacher of the Year Award twice.
Dr. Bhimraj's contributions extend beyond education. He chaired the prestigious IDWeek conference and has been a prominent speaker at national and international conferences. He played a crucial role as the Chair for the IDSA COVID-19 Rapid Living Guideline Series, providing timely clinical practice guidance during the pandemic. In 2020, he received the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) Citation Award for his outstanding achievements in the field.
With expertise in neurological infectious diseases, Dr. Bhimraj served as the Head of the Section of Neurologic Infectious Diseases at Cleveland Clinic for 11 years. His contributions to the understanding and management of infections affecting the nervous system are highly regarded. He has also been involved in guideline panels related to healthcare-associated meningitis and has authored chapters on neurologic infections in reputable medical publications.
